Forthcoming Events
Here you will find information about the future social and fund-raising events we are planning. The club is in the process of relocating its compressor into a 20 foot container in Ahmadi. This will cost the best part of 1000 KD. We also are looking at the possibility of getting a new compressor and eventually an air bank to make cylinder filling much quicker.
On May 1st we are back at the Elysee Palace Hotel for a buffet dinner and disco. Tickets are 8KD per head.
We are investigating the possibility of a Dhow Trip some time before the summer holidays. These were very popular and there were a number of dhows at Khiran that would make the trip out to Maradim Island. Jumping off the side of a dhow in full diving kit is not an experience for the faint-hearted to be sure! However Maradim was closed to the public during construction work for a new Coastguard harbour. The current position is unclear so we are investigating other possibilities.
The last BBQ we had was held on the beach at The Fahaheel Sea Club thanks to the hospitality of Dive Caroline. We usually have a theme and the last was an Arab Night as you can see from the picture. Date and venue is not yet fixed but this will be before the summer heat and there is a possibility we will use the same beach again.
The club was first formed in 1978 so this year celebrates its 30th anniversary. For this we will organise a major event probably with a live band. The picture was taken at the ball we held at The Palms in 2005 when music was provided by The Mighty Groovetones.
